Had some nice comments & interest in the "It's Fete" games & managed to get lots of networking with other businesses, Clair from Travel Counsellors, Mark from Floral Vintage & Pam Flower Chic to name a few.
our lovely new purchase has arrived & she is a beaut! A dark green & chrome Olympia model very very heavy typewriter I am told is the same one most early typists would have learned their skills on at typing school, this retro chic could bring a lot of nostalgia to your wedding & everyone will want t have a go, a great way for your guests to record wishes to the happy couple. My 9 year old is facinated with it so I have to buy her one now too! both the cases have now been cleaned & restored the big black beauty needed little work as still had origonal lining, lift out tray & key! Our mini case was the more challenging one, most of the interior was ripped out & rotten. Inside the original red taffeta lining on lid was all that remained but was so rotten had to come out too, the gold leaf name was Pittman Brothers of London so some history with this one, first I had to match the leather & hand stitch a new handle, I did manage to rescue the bridge from this, then I made a cushioned interior of white taffeta & gave it a lovely polish to bring out the shine. I loved restoring this suitcase! do you know what? I bought another 2 today that need some TLC so will be a busy bee getting those ready! so lovely to see orinonal lining & lift out tray! This one has a crown & initials R.C but the inside is a complete mess, well worth a do up though. will keep you posted on progress |
